Copley Music

The Copley-Fairlawn area is situated in northeast Ohio, approximately 35 miles south of Cleveland and adjacent to and west of Akron. The community includes the City of Fairlawn, Copley Township, and small portions of the City of Akron and Bath Township.  The area is mostly residential with many modern homes and apartments, extensive shopping areas, numerous houses of worship and a wide variety of cultural and recreational activities.

The Copley-Fairlawn City School District operates five buildings for educational purposes; (Arrowhead Primary School, K-4; Fort Island Primary School, K-4, 428; Herberich Primary School, Pre-K-4; Copley-Fairlawn Middle School, 5-8; and Copley High School, 9-12). A parochial school, St. Hilary Elementary School, is located within the boundaries of the district.

Copley-Fairlawn City Schools met 30 of the state’s 30 indicators and is rated as EXCELLENT.

Approximately 1100 students attend Copley High School with over 500 students participating in band or choir.  The music department has consistently received superior ratings at OMEA District and State Large Group, Local and State Marching Band and Solo and Ensemble Adjudicated Events.  The members of the band and choir have received many honors and have performed for many conferences and clinics through out the region.  The music department has also traveled to Hollywood, New York City and Orlando.
